unitedkurdistan wrote:Peshmerga sets up second brigade in Qamishlu
QAMISHLU, — People’s Defence Units (YPG) as the military front of West Kurdistan, has established its second brigade in the major Kurdish city of Qamishlu.
To defend the Kurdish people in West Kurdistan occupied by the Syrian regime, YPG has suffered sacrifices and within the framework of self-defence it has endeavoured to preserve the Kurds from the existential threats.
Following the formation of its first brigade in Efrin, today it sets up its second brigade in Qamishlu city, the Kurdish regional capital in West Kurdistan.
The second brigade titled as “martyr Sariya” was opened in a ceremony in which a number of high ranking of YPH along with the family of the martyr were present.

It's to conceal their identity and thus protect their families.

unitedkurdistan wrote:You guys should take a chill. They are there to protect the kurds in case the war comes to western kurdistan, this is good news not bad. Don't bother what flags they wave or what kind of clothes they wear. They are kurdish peshmergas sacrifising their lifes for the kurdish people. Things like flags and other thing should be brought up after the liberation.

I agree, but they refuse to let Peshmerga in, so even if they think they are protecting the people, they are actually downgrading the defense

Yes I also find it odd but as long they protect kurds and kurdistan I will not let it become a big deal for me now.
