ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— Hundreds of citizens and civil society activists demonstrated Sunday in front of the General French Consulate in Erbil, the capital city of Kurdistan, denouncing the murder of three Kurdish women activists in Paris.
The demonstrators called for immediate disclosure of the identities of the killers.
Activist Kamiran Ahmed told Aswat al-Iraq that the demonstrators handed a letter to the French consulate calling to expose the murderers of the Kurdish women activists last Thursday in Paris.
The letter stressed that "this plot is not the first that target strugglers because the enemies of our people always fear that the Kurdish people would achieve their ambitions to obtain their rights and have wise leadership.
The demonstrators’ letter also demanded from the French government "to speed up to detect the perpetrators and all those who stand behind this process to have their just punishment."
"The demonstration was organized by the liberation movement for women of Kurdistan," stressing that "most of the participants were from activists and lifted Photos of the PKK leader,Abdullah Ocalan , party flags and black banners wrote on them (Death to the killers of the three activities) , (France is the killer) and (France has not to participate with Turkey in terror)." Earlier reports said that the French authorities approached the Turkish embassy to get some information on the deceased, according to Anatolia news agency, while their families called for burying then in their country.
On the other hand, Kurds from different European countries marched in Paris denouncing the assassination.
One hundred thousand people took to the streets Saturday in the French capital to condemn the killing of three Kurdish activists in front of Kurdistan Information Office three days ago, ANF news agency reported.
Three Kurdish women, political activists, were shot dead on Thursday in Paris. The women were found in the early hours with gunshot wounds to the head outside the Kurdish Institute of Paris ((Institut kurde de Paris) in the 10th district of the French capital, police and the centre's director said. The victims are Fidan Dogan, 28-year-old, Leyla Soylemez, 25-year-old and Sakine Cansiz, 55-year-old.
