I HATE Ramazan in Turkey, and all theses drums at 3 o clock in the morning

I LOVE Ramazan food though

Hop hop hop!

1) this Drum stuff is NOWHERE in the Coran!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just stupid tradtion

2) Turkey is supposed to be a laic republic

3) I'm atheist. In a laic republic I'm supposed to be free to practice my belief IE SLEEP AT NIGHT.

4) I consider that waking everybody up at 3 o clock, then 3h15, then 3h30, then 4h is INTOLERANT: there are atheists, alevis, christians, non practicing muslims in Istanbul ok? even taoïsts I guess, my neighbor is a jap! So forcing everybody to wake up is acting as if everybody was muslim!

5) It is not just random noise, it is made to wake you up!!!

5) Turkey is a modern country, people have heard of Alarm clock!

6) At the end of ramazan they come to ask for money! first time I did not speak turkish, I just said I did not understand and closed the door. This time, he will hear me!

So it is nothing against religion! I don't complain about Ezan! And I went to the most conservative district of Istanbul to make Iftar, it was great! You can be atheist and respect religion anyway!

But this drum is not religion, that's all. If in France a man would try to wake me up everynight for some christian stuff, my reaction would be the same!

Tesiker (cikter) git??

The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

It's good you say it in here..because if you say that to a Turk they come after you. It already happened 2 times to me.

i understand about the drums .. i live in u.s so we dont have such thing .. i never heard it at night before .. so i don't know how it feels .. but it would bother me .. i would rather wake up by an alarm .. or my bro screaming in my ear rather than the drums .. coz when i think of drums ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that is too loud !!
